Author's Note

In college, I had the opportunity to enter a national poetry contest. Truthfully, I'd written poetry before, but nothing serious. I was more interested in the scholarship to help pay for the next semester, so I took a shot. No one was more surprised than me when I won. In fact, they liked another poem I wrote and published it along with The Lie.

That experience caused me to gather all the poetry I'd done and put this book together. It was a fun experience, and the finished product makes a great addition to any coffee table.

Of course, being me, I had to add a short story at the end. Once, I had a website called Cryptic Fiction. The story, And God Called, was among my most popular posts. It comes in three parts and is just what the title suggests. The premise: What would you do if you woke up one morning, the phone rang, and it was God.
